Saturday Pet Blessing Service 10-02-2010

There are many reasons a dog is better than a man. For those of us with pets, we know they are an integral part of our support system. And blessing them to lead a long and healthy life, is just a normal and healthy thing to do.

With this in mind, the Sunshine Cathedral, at 1480 SW 9th Ave in Ft Lauderdale is inviting owners to bring their pets on Saturday October 2, 2010 at 9:00 AM as they offer the prayers of Saint Francis of Assisi at a Pet Blessing Service. The service will take place in the courtyard by the local chapel. An offering will be received to support a local Humane Society.

St Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and it is customary to bless animals on or near his feast day of October 4.

Bring your pet and come join us.

Topic Reminder for Wednesday 09-15-2010

The topic tonight is “Making a Plan”. If you were working in an HIV Testing and Counseling clinic and had 20 minutes to tell someone they had just tested HIV-Positive, what would you tell them to do? What are the things you wish someone had told you? Let’s create a list of things a newly diagnosed person needs to do.

We meet every Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Art Serve auditorium, 1350 E Sunrise Blvd, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33304.

The first hour is dedicated to a specific pre-determined topic. Check out our list of past topics on this website. Around 8 o’clock, we take a 15 minute break for refreshments; cake, soda and water. The second half, we’ll discuss items of interest that affect our community such as Medical Updates, News Events, or up coming social events.

Subscribe to this Website by going to the box to the right that say EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION. Type your emailaddress@something.com into the box and then hit SIGN ME UP. This will generate an email to the emailaddress you entered. Go there, open that email and CONFIRM YOUR SUBSCRIPTION.
