On Sunday, March 20, the Pride Center will participate in a 10-kilometer fundraising walkathon through Fort Lauderdale to address the AIDS crisis in our community. We’ll be joined by thousands of others who understand that we must take action now to halt the escalating spread of HIV/AIDS in South Florida.
All the funds the Pride Center team raises will return to the Pride Center for use in services to people living with HIV/AIDS. The Pride Center provides a welcoming, safe space–an inclusive home that celebrates, nurtures and empowers the community and our friends and neighbors in South Florida.
We need your help.
1. Could you walk with our team? (Last year, we boasted a team of 110 walkers.)
2. Could you sponsor us financially? (Last year, we raised over $23,000.)
3. Would you help us recruit more walkers or sponsors?
We hope we can count on your support again this year. We need caring people like you to collaborate with us to impact our community and fight HIV/AIDS.
This is a great way to support the work of the Pride Center and to confront the HIV/AIDS crisis in our community….

The topic for Wednesday August 25, 2010 is Medications: The five classes of drugs and how they relate to the HIV replication cycle. The tests your doctor can perform to determine which drugs to put you on and the tests he can run to see how the drugs are working. I’m going to try to eliminate the buzz words and make this an interesting interactive fun and relaxing discussion. Bring a list of your HIV medications.
Dinner after at Peter Pan or 24 Diner. Come join us.
