AIDS Walk- March 24, 2012

Once again Pozitive Attitudes will participate in the Florida AIDS Walk as part of The Pride Center team. We’ve had a great time partnering for the last few years.

Why does it make a difference to walk with The Pride Center Team? Because all the funds The Pride Center team raises will return to The Pride Center for use in their vital, life saving services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

We need your help. Thousands of people regularly utilize the Pride Center’s HIV programs and services, including HIV Testing, personalized risk counseling and their nationally-renowned PALS Project. By supporting Pozitive Attitude’s participation in The Center’s AIDS Walk Team, you can help The Pride Center continue that impact.

People can join us here:

On Sunday, March 24, Pozitive Attitude and The Pride Center will again unite in Florida AIDS Walk, a fundraising walkathon to address the AIDS crisis in our community. We’ll be joined by thousands of others who understand that we must take action now to halt the escalating spread of HIV/AIDS in South Florida. Won’t you join us?

1. Could you walk with our team?

2. Could you sponsor us financially?

3. Would you help us recruit more walkers or sponsors?

We hope we can count on your support. The Pride Center’s award-winning HIV Counseling, Testing and Referral program administers testing to more than 350 individuals each month. Their PALS Project has helped more than 10,000 gay and bisexual men lead safer, richer lives. We need caring people like you to collaborate with us as we continue to impact our community and fight HIV/AIDS.

Please visit this website to join our team or make a donation. Spread the word to any friends, family, contacts or potential participants:

Florida AIDS Walk 2012

Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival is THIS SUNDAY, MAY 20th!

There is a great deal of important information in this e-mail. Please take a moment to read through it, and refer to the www.FloridaAIDSwalk.org web site Event Day Info page if you need more information!

Hello, Walkers!

If you saw my e-blast yesterday, you know that we are preparing for a large crowd of Walkers and music fans. Remember: to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration bonus of a $25 minimum donation to enter, you and your friends MUST register online at www.FloridaAIDSwalk.org by 11:59 PM TONIGHT. After that, the minimum donation is $50 for the remainder of available passes we have for the Music Festival. Attendance is being capped at 4,000 people – this will be strictly enforced!

Remember: $5 parking is available at the Bahia Mar and at the Sails Parking Lot (near 17th, park and shuttle to beach). You may park elsewhere for the event, but may pay higher hotel or parking lot rates to do so.

Everyone attending the Walk must first check in and receive your 2012 Florida AIDS Walk dog tag in order to access the beach and stage area. If you don’t have a dog tag, you will not be admitted onto the beach.

Check In and Registration begins at 8:00 AM at the Sheraton Beach Resort (the former Yankee Clipper), in Ballrooms “Clipper A” and “Clipper B.” After you’ve turned in your offline donations and collected your dog tag and fundraising prizes, you can walk north to the beach where the Walk will begin!

Click here for the schedule of the day’s events, and a map of the Walk route. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to park, register or check in, and walk to the beach/stage area by 9:30 AM!

While we LOVE pets and welcome them along the Walk route, be advised that the City does not allow pets along the part of the beach where the Walk Start and Music Festival will be on Sunday. If you have your pets with you, you won’t be able to join us on the beach and see the stage.

We want everyone to be well hydrated and cared for during the Walk! Water and snacks will be provided free of charge in the morning and along the Walk route. After the Walk, all kinds of delicious food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase throughout the concert performance. Bring cash to purchase food and drink tickets! ATMs will also be available on-site.

As always, we have plenty of Police, Security and Emergency Responders on-site for the event. If you need any help, or have questions, keep an eye out for GREEN-SHIRTED volunteers, or PURPLE-SHIRTED AIDS Healthcare Foundation staff members. We will do anything we can to assist you.

Stay hydrated, bring your sunscreen, and come prepared to have a GREAT day on the beach! Thank you for your support of Florida AIDS Walk … and I will see you on Sunday morning!

E-MAIL ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE TO INFO@FLORIDAAIDSWALK.ORG. I will respond to them before the Walk. (Maybe at 4:00 AM, but I will.)
