This Wednesday December 28, 2022 our topic will be our 12th Burning Bowl Ceremony. To preview a sample Burning Bowl Ceremony CLICK HERE
The burning bowl ceremony is a powerful ritual where the purpose is to identify and symbolically release old hurts, grudges, resentments, regrets, sufferings, mistakes… to release the past letting go of any thoughts, feelings or behaviors that might be holding you back for the new year ahead. And then identify the changes you want into your life.
Across religious traditions, fire is a powerful symbol of wisdom, knowledge, passion, purification, transformation, divinity and light. Fire inflames, consumes, warms, illuminates, inspires and serves as a catalyst for change.
The Ceremony is a two part ceremony. You will be given two pieces of paper and an envelope for this exercise.
PART 1
By briefly writing down on a small piece of paper what you are choosing to be free of, the actual act of writing what you want gone from your life is a key element of the letting go process.
We will then go outside and light your piece of paper and quickly drop it into the burning bowl and repeat:
I NOW RELEASE WHAT I DON’T WANT TO MAKE ROOM FOR IN THE DESIRES OF MY HEART. I NOW FORGIVE AND RELEASE EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY OF THE PAST OR PRESENT WHO NEEDS FORGIVENESS AND RELEASE. I RELEASE YOU AND LET YOU GO! I LET THE UNIVERSE DO ITS PERFECT WORK IN THIS EXPERIENCE FOR THE HIGHEST GOOD OF ALL CONCERNED.
This ritual focuses on what needs to be released from the past to prepare the present moment for our creation of a new year. It’s a simple outward sign of our awareness of what needs to change in our lives as we go forward. As we change, others see our changes and might be invited to change as well.
PART 2
Now with the second piece of paper, write down the changes you want into your life and place in a self addressed envelope. These will be mailed back to you next December 2023.
