This Wednesday August 28, 2019 we will have a guest facilitator, David Shelton. His topic is Codependency: Recognizing, comprehending, and breaking free from the chains of a dangerous behavior.
Originally, the term codependent was applied only to families of alcoholics. Eventually, the term expanded to include families with someone dependent on any kind of drug. Today, the word is often used to describe anyone in a significant and sometimes platonic relationship with a person who exhibits any kind of dependency. Having any relationships with these types of people often results in codependency, which involves an imbalanced sense of responsibility to rescue, fix, and help this person.
Are you a codependent person or know someone who might be? what kind of dependencies can lead to codependent behavior? This will be a presentation and open forum to educate and discuss codependency.
