This Wednesday April 17, 2019 our topic is ‘HIV and Oral Health’ and we will have a guest speaker.
Over 90% of PLWHA have some chronic oral
health condition. It is well documented that the link between oral health and overall health is significant. Patients that are engaged in oral health care have better HIV outcomes including higher rates of viral suppression.
This presentation will focus on HIV and oral health basics as well as teach participants to perform an oral self exam.
The presenters are Mark Schweizer DDS MPH Dental Director for the Southeast AETC and Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and Lindsay Scott Senior Dental Student
